Captverse: an AI business operating system

A build log for Captverse: why one customer record mattered more than any single feature.

The problem

Small and growing businesses run CRM, deals, stock, payments and WhatsApp on separate tools. The same customer exists five times, follow-ups fall between systems, and by Monday nobody trusts the numbers.

Who it is for

Small and growing businesses in India: real-estate developers and channel partners, distributors and retail, consultancies and service businesses.

The decision that shaped it

One workspace, one login, one customer record. Instead of integrating separate apps, every module writes to the same record, and identity and access are built in rather than bolted on. Teams start with one module and switch on more as they grow.

Architecture and AI choices

  • Modules on one data spine: CaptCRM, CaptDeals, CaptStock, CaptPay, CaptChat (a shared WhatsApp inbox), CaptVoice and CaptCampaign.
  • CaptVoice qualifies leads with AI calls through bring-your-own providers (Vapi, Bland AI, Twilio) and stores call summaries and transcripts, not audio.
  • Tenant isolation on every entity; card data is handled by the connected payment gateway, never stored.

Honest status

Live and free to start as a web app (there is no native mobile app; the web app works in mobile browsers). No public customer numbers yet.

How it informs my advisory work

Most "we need a new feature" conversations are really data-model conversations. Building Captverse is where I learned to ask first where the record of truth lives, and only then what to build on top of it.
